How is it May already?!

Time is flying by as usual but that means that we are getting closer to summer. It’s not bad weather now but we’ve got plenty of sun to come… hopefully!

Anyway, a new month means a new mug cake for you…

For May, we have a treat – a chocolatey cake – perfect as a sweet treat with the added bonus that you don’t have to wait long as it’s quick to prepare and cook but still delicious!


2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. milk chocolate
1 egg
2 tbsp. caster sugar
½ tsp. vanilla extract
4 ½ tbsp. plain flour
½ tsp. baking powder
**Your favourite MAKE International mug (here we have used the Hokolo large mug)**


Melt the butter and chocolate together and beat until the mixture is smooth.Allow to slightly cool.

One by one, whisk in the egg, sugar, vanilla extract, flour and baking powder.

Cook in the microwave about 1 minute 20 seconds at 800W but adjust for your microwave.

Allow to cool for one minute before eating.


Why not add some lovely melted chocolate as icing? Brilliant to top it all off and make a delicious treat even better!


When melting the butter and chocolate if you use the microwave do it carefully and slowly little by little. Chocolate burns easily in the microwave if care isn’t taken. We know that you’ll just want to get it melted so you can eat it sooner but take care!
